Online educational courses at the SKOLKOVO Centre for Educational Development will familiarise you with best practice in university transformation and the education of the future. Each course consists of several video lectures. You can choose to receive a completion certificate from the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO at the end of each course.
Universities: Transformational Governance
Start: Autumn, 2020
The world's first online course on university development. By putting global experience in the Russian context, this course will help you conceptualise the university as a managed facility and expand your perceptions of what can be changed in Russian universities and how — both at the level of general strategy and at the level of particular course formats and structural units.
The course is in Russian.

Free option
You will receive access to video recordings of lectures, tests, and the forum. In order to take the course, you simply register on the website and sign up for the course.
Fee-paying option
In addition to the benefits of the free option, you will receive access to essay-writing and to group marking and evaluation for coursework. The best work will receive expert evaluation by the course authors.

Andrey Shcherbenok
In 1992–1998, Andrey Shcherbenok studied at the Physics and the Philology faculties of St. Petersburg State University. There he defended his thesis in 2001, and 5 years later he received a PhD in Critical Theory from the University of California, Berkeley (USA). In 2006-2009, Dr. Shcherbenok was a lecturer and a Mellon postdoctoral fellow at the Society of Fellows in the Humanities at Columbia University. In 2009–2011, he was a Newton International Research Fellow of the British Academy at the University of Sheffield.
Since 2012, he has been working at the SKOLKOVO Education Development Centre, where he was in charge of designing the programmes “Perspectives of the Arkhangelsk Region: Strategies and Development Resources”, “Teams 5-100: Global Competitiveness of Russian Universities”, “New Leaders of Higher Education-2014”, and “Management of University Development Projects for Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Top Managers”. He also participated in designing and conducting a considerable number of strategic sessions for the executives of Far Eastern Federal University, Moscow Institute of Engineering and Physics, Novosibirsk State University, Lobachevsky University, Samara State Aerospace University, St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University, Tomsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Tyumen State University, and Ural Federal University, as well as worked on the research agenda of the Centre. Dr. Shcherbenok developed the SKOLKOVO on-line course “University Management”.
In 2011, he organised the scientific programme “Foresight, Science and Industrial Innovation in the International Context” for the INNOPROM-2011 International Exhibition and Forum of Industry and Innovation in Yekaterinburg. In 2012, he oversaw the Intellectual Platform of the 2nd Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art.
Dr. Shcherbenok is the author of numerous research papers in the field of the humanities and social sciences published in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Russia. He has lectured at universities in California, Chicago, Groningen, Tokyo, Leeds, Oxford, and London, and taught 17 different courses in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes at six universities.
‘The Universities: Transformational Governance course proceeds from the assumption that the current state of Russian universities is not entirely satisfactory, for various reasons. The course aims to stimulate the process of transformation of universities, a process which continues to change on the basis of independent external trends'

Education of the Future

A unique online course which summarises the key insights of the Global Education Futures initiative. This initiative included discussions and strategic sessions in the United States, EU countries, Latin America, Asia, and Russia. The sessions were attended by over 500 leaders in education from 50 countries.
Education of the Future provides an understanding of core trends that are changing the education system in Russia and the world. As you progress through the course, you will familiarise yourself with the strategies that higher education will need to employ to meet future challenges. The course is in Russian.

Pavel Luksha
Pavel Luksha is a professor of Business Practice at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. Luksha has managed the educational programmes for leaders in innovation, future education and R&D, particularly in nuclear, electric power, and oil and gas industries, among others.
He helped found the Club of R&D Directors that was established in 2010 under the auspices of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, the State University – Higher School of Economics, Russian Venture Company and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
Luksha is a member of the Expert Council of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives under the President of the Russian Federation. Since 2008, he has been working on educational system improvement, including in cooperation with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Open Government, and other organisations.
In 2012 and 2013, Luksha was Co-organiser and Programme Director of Foresight Fleet, one of the world’s largest projects that aims to teach people to think about the future.
Since 2010, Luksha has been in charge of the Education Foresight 2030 project, including the Higher Education Development Foresight and the Global Education Futures Report. Since 2012, he has also headed the Competence Foresight 2030 project.
Luksha holds an MA in economics from the State University – Higher School of Economics and a PhD in economics from the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute, RAS. He conducts research in both strategic management and organizational development within the Research Group of organizational evolution at the University of Hertfordshire.
‘The course will focus on the trends behind the new model of education. We will consider how exactly the educational system is changing and what new formats are appearing. Most importantly, we will consider the changes that existing educational institutions will have to make to meet these challenges.’

Consent to the Processing of Personal Data
Hereby I, hereinafter referred to as the «Subject of Personal Data», pursuant to the Federal Law of 27.07.2006 № 152-FZ «On Personal Data» (as amended), freely, of my own accord and in my own interest, give my consent to the Moscow School Management «SKOLKOVO» (hereinafter referred to as the «School», legal address: 143025, Moscow region, Odintsovsky district, Skolkovo, Novaya Street, 100) to the processing of my personal data provided during the registration by filling out the web form on the School's website skolkovo.ru and its subdomains *. skolkovo.ru (hereinafter referred to as the «Website»), directed (filled) with the use of the Website.
I understand personal data as any information relevant to me as the Subject of Personal Data, including my last name, first name, address, education, occupation, contact information (phone, fax, email, postal address), photographs, and other information. I understand the processing of personal data as the collection, classification, accumulation, clarification, updating, modification, use, distribution, transmission, including cross-border, depersonalization, blocking, destruction, permanent storage, and any other actions (operations) with personal information.
The processing of personal data of the Subject of Personal Data is carried out solely for the registration of the Subject of Personal Data in the database of the School and then directing to the Subject of Personal Data mail messages and SMS notifications from the School, its affiliates and/or sub-contractors, including advertising content, information letters and newsletters, invitations to the events of the School, and other advertising and news content, as well as for the confirmation of the identity of the Subject of Personal Data when visiting the events of the School.
The date of issue of the consent to the processing of personal data by the Subject of Personal Data is the date of sending the registration form from the Website of the School.
The processing of personal data of the Subject of Personal Data can be accomplished by means of automation and/or without the use of automation in accordance with applicable laws of the Russian Federation and internal regulations of the School.
The school takes the necessary legal, organizational and technical measures or ensures their application to protect the personal data against unauthorized or accidental access, destruction, modification, blocking, copying, providing, distribution of the personal data, as well as other illegal actions towards the personal data and commits itself to preserve the confidentiality of the personal data of the Subject of Personal Data. The school has the right to involve subcontractors in the processing of personal data of the Subject of Personal Data subjects as well as the right to transfer the personal data to its affiliates for processing, ensuring the assuming of the relevant obligations of personal data confidentiality by such subcontractors and affiliates.
I am aware that:
1) this consent to the processing of my personal data provided during registration at the Website of the School and directed (filled) with the use of the Website is valid for twenty (20) years starting from the date of the registration at the Website of the School;
2) the consent may be revoked by me on the basis of a written application in optional form;
3) the provision of personal data of third parties without their consent is punishable in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
